Who We Are

About-Face Missions is a prayer and missions minded group of Christians using Facebook as a platform to connect everyday Christians with ministers and missionaries serving on the foreign field. Feeling strongly that every Christian is mandated to be involved and engaged in missions in some form, and yet that most are not currently doing so, God planted this idea within me in mid-May of 2011. The thought of connecting lay people directly to missionaries and foreign pastors through Facebook and leveraging the ensuing relationships to pray daily for the Pastors and missionaries seemed to make sense. And there have been a handful of occasions where we have teamed together to financially invest in advancing God’s kingdom around the world. Our small group of Christians has grown to 150 people within 9 months and been responsible for roofing a Church in Kenya, sponsoring an eleven child orphanage in Kenya, buying a milk cow for that orphanage, freeing a 20 year bond slave in Pakistan, sending a church in India on 2 mission trips,purchasing food staples for a Pakistani orphanage, paying for education for 2 orphaned high school-boys from Uganda, sponsoring 2 indigent children allowing them to return to school in Nigeria, taking care of payments for an Indian pastors new vehicle for the first year, and sending around $2,500 for bibles to our ministry friends in Africa, India, and the Philippines. We raised $19,000 in 7 months of existence in 2011 and have higher hopes for 2012 including a global aid feeding ministry aimed at unreached people groups for the purpose of expanding the Kingdom of Christ.
